On Sunday, 9th of April 2023, the dazzling Ashroe Diamond made up for missing her chance to appear at the Cheltenham Festival by securing a commanding win in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Our star, who gracefully danced behind the top-class duo Marine Nationale and Facile Vega in earlier Grade One events, went on to snatch a Grade Three prize at Fairyhouse in January. With a twinkle in her eye, she was bound for the Cheltenham Festival as a major contender for the Mares' Novices' Hurdle, only to be ruled out on the morning of declarations.
But fear not, my dear friends! This 2-1 favorite enchanted us all as she glided to victory, providing Willie Mullins with his sixth win in the last 10 runnings of this Grade One contest. And who could forget the ice-cool ride from Paul Townend, guiding our Ashroe Diamond to a fairytale ending? ✨🏇✨
